Providence Neighborhood
Planting Program
The Providence Neighborhood
Planting Program is a street tree planting and maintenance partnership
between the Mary Elizabeth Sharpe Street Tree Endowment, the Raleigh Tree
Fund for Providence, the City of Providence and the residents of Providence.
The Program plants over 400
trees per year in Providence’s residential neighborhoods with the
help of citizen planters who pledge to care for their street tree. More
than 6000 trees have been planted by the PNPP since 1989!
Groundwork Providence serves
as the fiscal agent for the PNPP. The Mary Elizabeth Sharpe Street Tree
Endowment and the Raleigh Tree Fund for Providence are held and managed
by the Rhode Island Foundation and donations to these funds are tax deductable.
